FIRST SHOW
Dew Drop Inn, Sacramento July 10, 1996. I wore a red vintage floor length beaded gown with my red satin Chinese Laundry shoes (it was a look…the 90’s). I was dressed to see my queen, and see the queen I did. From Beauty Queen to Purple Rain, it was magic.
FAVORITE SHOW
Every show I’ve been to, I leave saying that it was her best show yet. But when I think back, I have to say it’s between that first show in 96, The Fillmore May 5, 1998, San Diego 2009 and Oakland 2011. Don’t make me pick…I can’t do it. Being a California girl, I’ve not yet been to a show out of state. BUT, I was able to fly to NYC in February 2005 for that talk she did with Ann Powers. Although it wasn’t a concert, traveling across the country to be there for that unique and special event was totally unforgettable. What an amazing experience.

In real life, I’d love for Hotel to come back; that solo performance in Phoenix ’05…good gracious! And Lady in Blue, Dragon, Pandora…I can make you a list if you’d like.
